Apple Picking

Today was such a nice fall day, we decided to go apple picking. I've always wanted to do it, so we found a place open on weekdays out in Woodstock. They had a great little farm store and cafe and it wasn't too crowded, which made it nice for getting around with a stroller.
Peyton LOVED it! We rode on a tractor, walked through the orchards and picked our own apples. We even snacked on a few as we went.
Peyton found one of her own and we let her have a few bites of ours.

Diapers and stuff

It's official, we are switching to Huggies. This little girl has had too many leaks at naptime. After she checked out the box and the diapers themselves, Peyton seemed satisfied with the decision.
Not much to report at this point. I'm slacking right now. I spend my days chasing this little girl out of one thing or another. We're just getting ready for her bday party. Maybe once this party is over, I'll have some more brain power to focus on things to say on this blog. I swear being pregnant sucks all of your brain power right out. I call Peyton "Bailey" at least once a day- and sometimes I call Mike "Bailey", too.

The Hostess

Peyton hosted a playdate on Wednesday for a few of her friends. She had a great time and was happy to take a 2 1/2 hour nap after they left.
Peyton and Adriana played in Peyton's Jeep. Adriana looks like she's Peyton's age in this pic (she's 5 months!)

Luke entertained Ella while she hung out in the swing

Here's Dom and little Devin. He's such a sweetie.

14 Weeks

Here's the 14 week belly shot. Pretty unexciting still. The belly is starting to show, but it won't look like much for a little while longer. It shows more at night. Not sure if it's gravity or the big dinners I eat, but this is just a morning shot so nothing exciting to see. I just don't update much about my pregnancy this time around. I'll try to get better as it gets further in.

More on the move

I've had a few requests from family to see more of how this little girl gets around. She is still doin her butt scoot. So here you go.

Sneaky Peanut

Since this little girl is on the move, we have to watch every scoot she takes. Anyone with little kids will tell you that you can't let your guard down for a second (and she's not even walking yet!)
Everytime a look away, she quickly makes a move to get into something or somewhere.
Her favorites are
1. Bailey's food- yup, this little girl likes to munch on puppy chow. Needless to say the dog bowls are up on the counters unless it's mealtime.
2. The bathroom- where she takes every magazine down and tries to tip over the cabinet or garbage can.
3. Any of the houseplants that she can dig in. This girl is not afraid to get dirty!
4. Under the dining table. This is where she scouts for crumbs or just goes to hide. She seriously thinks I can't see her when she's under there. She'll bob and weave between the chairs and peek out to see if she's been spotted.

Peyton Takes Charge

Today while eating her peas, Peyton decided that she wants to feed herself.
Luckily Mike was close enough to grab the camera and record. I definitely couldn't let go of the spoon because I'm sure she would have poured it on her head and then flung it on the wall. That being said, Peyton wouldn't let go either, and really seemed like she wanted to help me scoop the food and put it in her mouth.
It's only 39 seconds long so humor me and watch my little girl eat her peas.

The Triplets are Here

Congratulations to our cousins Joe and Katie Paulley.
They welcomed their triplets today.
I don't have many details yet, but Cole, Ethan and Liam made their arrival early this morning.

Pictures

I'm not feeling so hot today so I'm just gonna post some pics. I know I've been slacking lately.
These are from Sophia DiMaria's first birthday party. We had a great time! The kids loved the petting zoo!

Early Birthday Presents and Cousins

Peyton absolutely loved playing with Emmett and Erin this past weekend. They gave her her first birthday gifts, some fun alphabet blocks, a Winnie the Poo train and an adorable birthday hat. She looks like such a big girl on her train sitting by her cousins.

And of course, she does her Michael Jordan impression while her cousins smile.

She couldn't get enough of playing with all of her toys and her cousins toys. They were so patient with her, too. They sat on the ground with her and played for hours.

How cute is this hat!?!

Our Bathing Beauty and our visit with the Chambers Clan

We spent Labor Day weekend with our cousins, Kiki and John, and their kids Emmett and Erin.
The trip was wonderful (besides a flat tire on the way home). We ate enough for about 500 people and Peyton LOVED every second of playing with her cousins. She just lit up every time she saw Emmett or Erin and would try and follow them and copy whatever they did. I really didn't end up taking many pictures, I just kept forgetting to get my camera out, but I will upload a few tomorrow.
In the mean time,
right before we left, Mike was giving Peyton a bath and she was being such a squealy thing that he had to get it on tape.

11 Months

Dear Peyton,

My little girl. Tomorrow you will be 11 months old!
I can't believe that you will be a year old next month.

You have had a busy month this month. Teething has been the main event. You have managed to work on 4 new pearly whites. They haven't been the easiest thing for you, but you have worked through it.

You also wore your first pair of piggies this month and have been rockin them ever since.

I have been so proud of you- as I always am. We take you with us everywhere now and you are always such a trooper. You are so patient and calm whether we are at the store or a restaurant, on a trip or visiting friends.
And you have a bunch of your own friends, you little social butterfly. You love to play with Aiden across the street, or have playdates with any number of cuties.
You seem to make friends wherever you go. You'll wave and squeal and smile at everyone you see. People stop to tell me what a cutie you are, or how well behaved you are and I just glow.

I am trying to snuggle with you more and get as many hugs and kisses as I can because I feel like your baby days are numbered. It makes me so sad to think about it, but I am so excited to watch you as you take on your toddler years. Daddy and I love to listen to you chatter to your toys. You'll sit on the floor or be in your crib just chatting away. I honestly think you are having conversations with them. Maybe one day you can tell me what you were saying.

You have been on the move this month, scooting your way around the room and just this week you've finally started sitting and standing up in your crib. Until this week you've been content to lay around, but now you look like a little inmate sitting and shaking the rails as you call out for someone to come and get you.

I am so excited that you are going to be a big sister. You are going to make a great one, but you will always be my baby.

I LOVE YOU so much,

Love,
Mommy

Another Fun First

Until yesterday Peyton has been content to just lay in her crib. I know most of her buddies have been up for months. She just likes to take her time.
Well, the other night, she woke up because of her teeth and I went in to find her sitting up. This was followed by a near catastrophe at nap time yesterday morning. Mike put her down to sleep and came down to turn on Peyton TV so he could check to see if she was going to sleep. Instead he sees her HANGING over the side of the crib.
So, of course we immediately lowered the crib level.
Well, this morning, I nearly peed myself. It was nearly 8 and she still wasn't making any noise. She is usually up between 6 and 7:30 so I was curious what she was doing.
I found her sitting up in her crib, holding her blankie, hunched over forward taking a nap.
She looked like a little old man napping in front of the tv.
She looked up at me with sleepy eyes and smiled. Guess she has to figure out how to lay herself back down. She usually only lays down if she loses her balance.
Wish I had my camera.
