Nana Penny's Dollhouse

Before Mike's mom died she bought a very special dollhouse for her first granddaughter.
Peyton is lucky enough to be that special girl.
It's been packaged up in dozens of boxes at Mike's dad's house until now. We wanted her to have it for her first birthday- though she won't be able to play with it for a while yet. The parts are all handmade and so delicate and I just can't believe how many pieces there are!!
This is the front of the house. It's very big. About 2 feet tall and 3 feet long.

Here are just some of the play pieces. There are dozens of food items, paintings for the walls, handmade pieces of furniture, candles, wall sconces and even serving sets, cleaning utensils and cats and chickens. Peyton will be able to decorate this house 3 times over if she wants to.
My personal favorite pieces are the fire for the fireplaces and a little tiny horse shoe for over the door for good luck.

Here is a shot of the inside rooms. I put some of the furniture away but there are still so many pieces. The detail is amazing. It took me about 2 hours to open everything and I enjoyed every minute of it. I kept imagining Mike's mom picking out each piece for her granddaughter to enjoy. It made me a little teary eyed.

Here's a close up of one of the inside rooms. It looks so lifelike! I am so touched that Peyton's Nana Penny wanted her to have something so beautiful and special to enjoy. I can't wait to play with it with her.

Wow, that is awesome! I can't wait to see it up close. This house makes my dollhouse growing up look like a shack.
