Christmas 2009

We had a wonderful Christmas this year.
We went to Grandma and Grandpa's (Donna and Dad) on Christmas eve to celebrate.
Peyton had a great time seeing her Aunt, Uncle, Great Aunt, Great Uncle and cousins.

Then, Christmas morning we celebrated with Dad, Donna, Dave and Laura at our house.
Peyton got spoiled and loved opening her gifts. It was fun to see her so excited, even though I think it was more for the wrapping paper than some of the gifts.

Next Nana, Papa and Aunt Gigi came over to spend the day. Peyton got a new wagon, a tent and tons of clothes and toys. She loved sitting and riding around in her wagon and crawling in her tent.

We ended the day and Mike's Aunt and Uncles- of course I forgot my camera, but Peyton got to play with tons of cousins and eat some yummy cookies. She was such a good girl and we had a great day with everyone. Thank you to everyone for our great gifts and thank you for loving our little girl so much!

Look what we found in the cabinet

Mike had taken out Bailey's big food tin to feed him the other morning. When he turned around to put it back this is what he found. Our little Curious Monkey

Day at the Museum

Mike and I took Peyton to the Kohl Children's Museum on Friday. I think she is still a bit young to really enjoy all of it, but she had a great time anyways. She loved looking at all of the kids and seeing the the exhibits. The water exhibit was her favorite. I am happy that it's so close because I think it'll be a great place to go during the long Winter months.

When Good Onesies Go Bad

Peyton decided she wanted to be pantless last night for a while before pj time. Mike and I noticed that for some reason, the onesie she had on under her shirt (which had fit perfectly this morning) had turned into a monster. Note the second picture where it looks like she has a pair of white shorts on. That's her onesie. She looked like a little old grandpa.

Playing In The Snow

We took our little munchkin out in the snow yesterday afternoon. She had a blast! Mike and I were just cracking up seeing her in her little snow suit.

Peyton loves the snow.

Mike showed it to her on our balcony the other day. She took a handful and shoved it in her mouth and then wanted more.

So as you can imagine, she now throws a temper tantrum when she goes by the sliding glass door and we won't let her reach out to eat the snow.

We'll take her out to play in it soon and I'll get some pictures.

14 Months

My Little Peyton,

I can't believe that another month has gone by already. I just can't keep up with how fast time is going and how quickly you are growing!

This month has been an exciting one.

I'll just list everything for you.
1. Most exciting of all- you have taken your first steps. You still prefer to hold on to something, but you are getting braver every day. You've now taken up to 6 steps together. Your Daddy and I were so proud of you!
2. You celebrated your second Thanksgiving. You tried all of the foods this year. You liked the stuffing and mashed potatoes best. What a change from last year when you could barely hold your head up.

3. You visited Santa. You don't remember last year, actually you slept through it, but this year you saw the jolly old elf- and he made you scream your head off!
4. You saw the Christmas tree. This is the most exciting thing for you! You love to point to it, touch it, look at it and crawl under it.

5. Your vocabulary has grown this month as well. You now love to say Dada, Mama, Baba, Bailey (yay yee), Nana, Gigi, Papa (usually sounds like Paba), hi, hello (which sounds like heeooo- you do this when you play talk on your telephone), and now you love to say "that" constantly.
6. You love showing how smart you are. You do the movements to Itsy Bitsy Spider. I'd say that is your favorite song, but actually your true favorite is the theme song to The Office.- that's right folks, Peyton busts a serious move everytime The Office comes on.
7. You know where your nose, eyes, ears, hair, mouth, toes, hands, and belly are. You also know the names of your toys- Burt, Ernie, grocery cart... and what nap, snack, bath and so many other things mean. It's been so fun to watch you soak everything in!

You constantly amaze your Daddy and I. We can't wait to celebrate Christmas with you this month and share every other new thing with you.

We love taking you everywhere with us. You are such a good little girl and so friendly and happy. This big world is your oyster and you seem to know you can do anything you put your mind to.

You are our sunshine. We love you with all of our hearts.

Peyton and the Christmas Tree

Peyton is loving the Christmas Tree. Here she is when we first turned the lights on. She's wearing her little Christmas Dress because we had gone to see Santa before.
Um, that was not such a success. She loves pictures of Santa and statues of Santa and cartoons of Santa... um, the real Santa= tears and screaming!!
Oh Well, maybe next year.
So anyways, she loves to point at the tree and say "that" over and over again. She hasn't pulled on it too much yet, thankfully, but there are weeks to go so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Here she is checking out the angel. We had put it up after she went to bed the night before but she noticed it right away in the morning and kept pointing to it so Daddy held her up to see it. She giggled at it and waved.

And here is our little monkey sitting in her toy bin in front of the tree. She had tried to climb into it to reach up to some ornaments and I guess decided that she would just have a seat and play from there.
